Introduction to MERLOT

9:30 - 11:30am on Wednesday, November 10 2010 in Conference Room 3

MERLOT (Multimedia Educational Resources for Learning and Online Teaching) is a peer-reviewed repository of online resources freely available to use in your teaching. There are over 18,500 items in the collection. Most fields are represented and several fields have over 1000 demos, simulations, animations, and case studies each. MERLOT is set apart from other collections of materials because it is peer reviewed by an editorial board, displays comments from other instructors, allows you to build "personal collections' of favorite resources, and features "communities" within various disciplines, allowing you to view profiles of others in your field, find a speaker, etc. You will learn how to search for materials, create your own account, and create your own collection. The instructor will share personal selections.

Hi Irene, we'll have to find a time when we can catch each other up on our presentations! If on MERLOT I could find sources of content to share within our training organization it would be wonderful! The needs are great, the resources are, well, not so great!
